Crossing the Coaching Rubicon

It is almost a year to the day since I retired as a Headteacher and this anniversary has put me in a somewhat reflective state of mind.
As previously mentioned, I have been blessed with many opportunities post headship, but the most powerful opportunity of all has been my training as ILM Level 7 Executive Coach and Mentor. I was very fortunate (and eternally grateful) that IAPS agreed to sponsor my training and I can testify that the fabulous Sue Webb, ICF PCC and Charlie Warshawski, PCC from Love Your Coaching are amongst the best in the business to learn from.
Heads and Senior Leaders in schools will no doubt be exhausted at this time of year, and many will be considering their own 'next steps' in their personal and professional development. If any of you are considering either becoming an Executive Coach or being a coachee, then I would absolutely encourage you to do so.
In 49BC, Julius Caesar famously crossed the Rubicon river, and, in doing so, effectively created a situation where there was no turning back, and set himself and his army on a pathway towards war with the Senate of Rome. If you embrace the coaching approach, like Caesar, there will be no turning back for you, and I encourage everyone in my network to take the steps to quite transformational change, whether that be to train as a coach or to become a coachee.
Cross The Coaching Rubicon - you won't regret it.
